The Office of Alumni Support exists to support our graduates as they enter the worlds of post-secondary education and the workforce. The Office of Alumni Support assists MAPCS graduates with creating and implementing post-secondary college and/or career plans as well as growing and strengthening our alumni network. Upon graduation, students stay connected to our organization through continued support by our Alumni Support Coordinator. Using a case management approach, the Alumni Support Coordinator focuses on connecting educational options to careers, identifying the best-postsecondary fit for every alumnus, and outlining the steps to enrollment or employment. The Office of Alumni Support offers a continuum of services designed to ensure our graduates success through enrollment and employment support, special events and programs, managing an emergency fund, and scholarship research and application support. We also provide referrals to community-based organizations (CBOs) or government agencies for alumni experiencing difficulties with housing, employment, child care or other social service needs. Finally, we also provide opportunities for alum of the Maya Angelou Schools to give back to our school community by volunteering at our campuses, serving as mentors or donating their time and talents in other ways.
